My last summer tomato crop feels like a long time ago.
In summer, food is basically art I get to eat,
It seemed a lot easier then…
When I eat what I grow, I feel connected to my body, fully “with” the food I’m eating, and honestly nourished…responding literally to the life I’m fueling it with. I think this is a true co-creation.
It’s bleak and cold here in Northern CA now, like a black and white photograph, and I’m asking –
How can I feel intimately connected to food right now?
When I sat with the question, I got this-
“Prepare more foods that take longer, so you can spend
more time with them. Touching, smelling, seeing them.”
Oh, okay, I get it this.
Even though I think I’m too busy, it matters…
It’s a story that I’m too busy to stop.
It’s more true that I’m too busy NOT to.
What about you?
Breathe…and then
build a tiny, but significant relationship with what comes home from the grocery store.
One Moment.
That’s all it needs to take.
One breath.
HOW ARE YOU STAYING CONNECTED TO DEEP, INTIMATE NOURISHMENT TODAY?
XO,
Marina
